How music changes film

This is a project I worked on to show how music can change the emotion of a character in film. This clip is from Fantastic Mr Fox in the opening scene where Mrs fox announces she is pregnant. The first edited clip uses the song Don't Let Me Down by the Beatles. I used this song to change the scene with Mr fox being demonstrated as nervous and scared due to the music. The lyrics of "don't let me down" in this clip shows the exact emotions Mr Fox could be feeling in this scene as he does not want to be let down by recent news. In the second clip, I used the song Carless Whisper by George Micheal to demonstrate a romantic emotion. This song shows Mr Fox to be excited about the news of pregnancy as well as romantic attachment to Mrs Fox. This is aided by the fame of this particular song which is generally considered a romantic song, thus making it perfect to convey that particular emotion. The final clip uses a very dramatic song to show the negative emotions Mr Fox has of the recent news. This song is very dramatic thus showing that Mr Fox is scared and potentially even somewhat angry.
